intro.

If you’re a user of the enterprise version of Universal Analytics, listen up, this one’s for you!

Google has officially pushed back the sunset date of Universal Analytics 360 to July 1st, 2024. This only applies to the enterprise version, though, as the sunset date for the standard Universal Analytics properties will happen on July 1st, 2023.

This is great news for users of the enterprise version as not only are they given more time to make the switch to GA4, it also gives Google more time to develop the enterprise aspect of this version of GA.

That being said, the sooner you make the switch the more historical data you’ll have access to, so if you want to make the switch now, you can! In fact, to encourage customers to make the switch sooner rather than later, Google has announced a list of tasty new features coming to GA4 next year.

Coming Soon to Google Analytics 4

We hope you’re as excited as us – Google is stepping up their GA4 game. These new features set to drop in 2023 will help with a variety of different aspects of using the most up-to-date version of Google Analytics.

Migration Assistance

Google is making sure that getting up and running with GA4 is as easy as possible by introducing a Setup Assistant to create a property for you and even automate some of the more basic initial steps.

Don’t worry about Google straying too far from your preferences, they’ve stated “these new Google Analytics 4 properties will be connected with the corresponding Universal Analytics properties to match your privacy and collection settings.”

Real-time Reporting – Behavioral Modelling

Behavioural modelling will be integrated into the real-time reporting features, allowing you to view a customer’s journey as it happens.

Custom Channel Grouping

Being able to customise your groups of channels will allow you to easily compare performance, making it easier to identify areas for improvement. Google has said one of the main reasons for this is to help “to compare the performance of your paid search brand with your non-brand campaigns.”

Campaign Manager 360

Another nifty feature on the horizon, Google announced the integration of Campaign Manager 360, saying that it “should allow advertisers to bid towards Google Analytics 4 conversions in Display & Video 360’s automated bid strategies.”
