Flaunt were approached by an Ireland based rug supplier to help them bring a subset of their existing product line into the UK and European markets using Shopify.

the brief.

simple to use, easy to manage

After an initial research gathering call it was clear that Magento was absolutely not an option for this project (based on past experiences), and the client wanted to get up and running on Shopify.

We agreed. Shopify is the ideal platform for this project as it’s simple to use and easy to manage. No hosting commitments or servers to configure.  

Shopify’s recent addition of the Markets feature (early 2022) also allows multi language, multi currency websites to be created quickly and easily. We were able to utilise our extensive previous experience with Shopify Markets to make some quick recommendations and hit the ground running.

our approach

After our extensive requirements gathering phase had concluded we had a solid technical specification and could begin putting things in place. The requirement of trade accounts functionality meant we needed to lean on Shopify Plus’ B2B offering.

Once we’d ironed out the initial parts we began Shopify App research and recommendations to plug some gaps. Shopify’s App ecosystem is vibrant and can cater for most standard e-commerce additions. For this project, we built a bespoke upsell function to allow customers to easily add the correct underlay when selecting a rug; when existing Shopify Apps can’t meet our needs, we have no trouble creating something bespoke.

Critical to this project was also the international logistics integration, which is handled by DPD. This is a seamless integration which links up tracking numbers and delivery notifications for the customer.

Launch

As always, launch was smooth, and sales were being made within a few days! The client is very happy with how easy it is to manage orders in Shopify, especially compared to previous experience in other platforms.
