Joe Browns is a Yorkshire-based Fashion and Homeware Retailer

They’re on a mission to make people feel good using fun designs and remarkable quality. The small details and little finishing touches make Joe Browns’ clothing stand out from other high street brands.

Turning Travel Trends Into a PR Opportunity

With summer travel surging in 2026, particularly among 25- to 34-year-olds, 84% of travellers plan to travel the same amount or more than they did in the previous year.

However, holidaymakers have become noticeably more cost-conscious. Compared with last year, fewer travellers plan to pay for extras such as seat selection, insurance, and additional baggage (down from 24% to 21%).

At the same time, airline fees are adding up, with many carriers charging up to £65 for overweight luggage. Knowing this, we identified a prime opportunity to educate audiences on efficient packing and capture search and social interest around money-saving travel hacks.

What Our Strategy Involved

Trend Spotting with Brand Relevancy

We noticed the viral “Sudoku packing” trend gaining traction on socials. By tapping into this trending conversation, we created a timely, practical solution that helps consumers avoid excess baggage charges while showcasing Joe Browns’ versatile summer clothing lines.

Positioning Joe Browns as the Experts

We established Joe Browns as an authority on smart travel by introducing the “3x3x3 Grid Method”. This straightforward packing formula consists of 3 tops, 3 bottoms, 3 layering pieces, and 2 pairs of shoes. By ensuring no item sits in isolation, we demonstrated how travellers could generate 20+ outfit combinations from just nine pieces of clothing.

To add even more value, we produced content around “6 Top Tips to Avoid Excess Baggage Charges,” offering practical, expert-approved advice.

Collaborative PR, Social and Email Distribution

We collaborated with the Joe Browns team to turn this highly shareable press release into a blog post and social media content. Additionally, the Joe Browns team integrated this campaign into their email marketing strategy, sending a dedicated newsletter out to their customer base and shared on their social media channels.

We Added Value to Joe Browns

The campaign successfully drove massive brand visibility and audience engagement across digital PR, the Joe Browns blog, social media, and email.

Blog Performance

Social Media Performance

By working with the Joe Browns team, there was immense engagement and high click-through rates across both Instagram and Facebook, with the combined figures as follows.

Email Marketing Performance

The internal team created a dedicated email campaign titled “Discover The 3X3 Sudoku Packing Method” and sent it out on 31st May 2026, which performed extremely well.

Commercial Impact for Joe Browns

Beyond brand visibility and engagement, the campaign successfully drove direct revenue. By linking the “Sudoku packing” grid items back to the Joe Browns website, the social media campaign generated £140 in revenue from users who clicked through and shopped.

In addition, the email push was highly successful commercially, driving 51 transactions with an Average Order Value (AOV) of £93.81, resulting in an additional £4,785 in direct revenue.

This highlights the power of combining a creative, trend-led PR hook with an agile, collaborative approach across social media and email to drive tangible brand awareness and commercial results.
